The Contemporary PA is a Virtual Assistant business launched in 2017. After just a year, the founder Gemma Licensed the concept meaning others could use the brand and model to run their own Virtual Assistant business under the umbrella. Only two years on and there are now 5 Licensed Virtual Assistants across Dorset and The Contemporary PA have just announced their first National Licensee launching in Newcastle in the new year.
On Friday 29th November, Gemma at The Contemporary PA was announced Wessex FM’s Local Business Awards, Entrepreneur of the Year 2019. The judges acknowledged that not only had Gemma spotted a gap in the Dorset market for small business support, but also that she had recognised an opportunity by franchising the concept.
“There’s a real trend for people who want to work from home and who want a better work-life balance, particularly parents who want a career but also want to be available for their children when they need to be. Winning this award has been amazing, I can’t quite believe it. It’s humbling to know that people like the concept and support what I’m doing”. Gemma Wall, The Contemporary PA.
The Contemporary PA supports small businesses and start-ups with administration and digital tasks, allowing them to spend their time on growing their businesses. Their ad-hoc and flexible approach makes them truly accessible for businesses at all stages throughout a business’s life.
“When I started The Contemporary PA, people thought I was mad; a digital business in a town where the internet isn’t always stable? However, from my own experience of being a start-up, I knew that this was a service Dorset enterprises needed to have access to in order to grow and thrive”. Gemma Wall, The Contemporary PA.
Since launching in 2017, The Contemporary PA have assisted with businesses of all shapes and sizes from sole traders to established companies, and even have some well-known celebrities on their books.
The new year doesn’t look as though it’s going to be any quieter for the team either. We’re already in consultation with a number of individuals across the South who are looking to launch into the world of virtual with The Contemporary PA, and this means we’ll have even more capacity and expertise to support even more businesses.
